Job Purpose:
- The Logistics Services Specialist is a customer-focused expert with a solid understanding of existing and future logistics processes (from beginning to end) and services.
- He/she maintains constant focus on our customers’ logistics requirements to increase customer focus and satisfaction in a cost-efficient and profitable manner.
- The Logistics Services Specialist will always monitor the quality and efficiency of logistics services for our top customers and partners in the Benelux region, introducing new services in collaboration with the IT department, and proactively looking for and promoting new logistics solutions and services, whereby 3PL services have an important focus..
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and improving existing logistics services in line with customer requirements and pre-defined service levels
- Execution of customer-focused logistics services in collaboration with customers, vendors, service partners, IT and logistics
- Prospecting of state-of-the-art logistics services with added value within the IT domain
- Managing requirements in terms of logistics service provisions and service levels for major customers, i.e. updating the database in collaboration with the sales department and the customer.
- Creation, evaluation and monitoring of logistics performance reports with regard to customer SLAs.
- Proactive evaluation of existing logistics processes and adaptation for potential improvements together with the relevant partners.
- Evaluation of the logistics services per customer from a financial perspective.
- Implementation from A to Z of (new) services from concept to set-up, testing, monitoring and analysis in terms of profitability.
- Creation of procedures, working methods and Service Level Agreements.
- Provide training to the team in operations.
- Proactively look for new logistics services in close collaboration with our internal and external partners (sales department, customers, vendors, transporters, IT, service providers, etc.)
- Design and develop new services.
- Develop business cases for the new services, including ROI and profit analyses.
- Create reliable service documentation to ensure the range of logistics services run smoothly.
- Manage the logistics part of new offers (RFI, RFQ, RFP).
- Thorough knowledge of the E2E processes and the system set-up that relates to the logistics service provision, i.e. the logistics module of SAP R/3, carrier EDI set-up, carrier track&trace, tools, etc.
- Coordinate with the European Superuser team to take advantage of existing features and monitor new system developments.
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Applied Economics or Logistics Management, or equivalent through experience in a similar role
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of logistics services and operational roll-out of logistics projects
- Through knowledge of existing logistics services with regard to warehouse, transport and IT system integration
- Knowledge and experience of 3PL logistics services is a bonus
