We are Stannah, a family-owned English company that has been operating on the Czech market since 2007.
We manufacture stairlifts for domestic and commercial use. The lifts are used to transport people who are no longer able to climb stairs on their own. Our products are tailor-made, high quality and have very short delivery times.
We export our lifts all over the world and are the market leader.
Stannah have a job available for a Manufacturing Engineer within their on-site team in Brno.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be required to support ongoing business as usual improvement activities, alongside enhancing productivity, quality, efficiency and safety. The successful candidate will work closely with both the Production Manager and the Senior Manufacturing Engineer to improve production processes at all levels of investment and alongside longer term NPI activities.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing support for day-to-day technical process issues in a production environment
- Be the key liaison between UK Curved Rail and the Czech production site
- Develop and optimise manufacturing workflows and procedures by analysing production and non-production processes
- Lead 5S and Lean Six Sigma initiatives for continuous improvement
- Support Root Cause Analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Support the specification, design and implementation of new processes and equipment
- Produce production documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
- Lead and manage projects aimed at improving production processes and eliminating waste
- Design jigs and tooling, layouts and process maps
- Participating in the implementation of new production projects
- Communicate and co-ordinate with both internal departments and external suppliers
Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:
- Education: secondary school/university education in mechanical engineering or technology
- Experience in a similar position: min. 3 Y
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies
- Knowledge of technical processes of optimization (LEAN, TPM,..), continuous improvement methods
- Knowledge of technical drawing programs CAD (Solidworks would be ideal)
- Problem-solving skills
- Analytical thinking, consistency, tools (5W, Ishikawa)
- Flexibility and ability to work in a team
- Knowledge of English C1, PC skills, driving licence B
