Head of Global Project Portfolio Management

About the Role: Are you an experienced leader in global project management? We’re looking for a Head of Global Project Portfolio Management to oversee the delivery of complex software, cloud, and hardware solutions. You’ll manage a team of 9 skilled project and program managers, ensuring high-impact projects are delivered on time and exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio and Program Management: Oversee a global portfolio of projects varying in size and complexity. Ensure all initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Lead project review boards, steer committees, and customer review sessions to keep stakeholders informed.
Strategic Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop a global team of 9 project and program managers, building resource capacity plans to support current and future demands. Ensure the team remains agile, motivated, and skilled to handle complex solutions delivery.
Risk and Performance Management: Anticipate potential risks, proactively implement mitigation strategies, and ensure consistent delivery performance. Develop KPIs and reporting mechanisms to maintain visibility over all project activities.
Project Governance: Champion best practices and project management standards across the organization. Ensure consistent adherence to governance processes and be an advocate for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder and Customer Management: Act as the primary point of contact for customer-facing projects, ensuring clear communication, conflict resolution, and alignment of project goals with customer needs. Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, especially in the B2G sector.
Team Development: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing, flexible team capable of meeting current and future workload demands. Lead by example, manage performance, and resolve conflicts to create a positive and productive team culture.

Qualifications:

Proven experience managing global project portfolios and delivering complex solutions.
Strong background in B2B or B2G sectors, especially working with sensitive data.
Excellent leadership, risk management, and governance skills.
Customer-facing experience and ability to manage expectations.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
