Description:
We are currently looking to hire an experienced EHS Manager to join the team and play a critical role in managing the EHS function for our Prague Fulfilment Centre (FC). The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, hands-on and customer obsessed individual, passionate about Safety and able to identify, coordinate and drive improvements in Safety whilst engaging Operational and other Support Function stakeholders. The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional EHS Manager and will be flexible enough to occasionally travel and attend offsite meetings.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to Czech law as it applies to Life Safety in a Fulfillment Center environment
- Ensure compliance to safety programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation and other such programs
- Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of managers and associates in regards to critical safety issues
- Develop and maintain ergonomics programs where needed
- Maintain required paperwork to comply with Czech law
- Analyze accident data and build prevention programs to impact accident trends
- Build management and employee commitment for a safety program through influence not authority
- Create a Culture of Safety in the FC
- Analyze new process, machinery for potential safety concerns
- Review Standard Operating Procedure changes and make safety recommendations
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis
- Interact with Workers Compensation third-party administrators in carrying out claims
management
- Develop a positive working relationship with local Fire Department and other local authorities
as needed
- Manage consistent and disciplined incident investigation and reporting
- Weekly metrics reporting to management teams
- Applying Lean tools to Safety: error-proof processes, analyze safety trends and create
proactive plans to address key risks, use Pareto analysis and other tools to monitor and drive
high-effectiveness Safety programs
Basic qualifications:
- University degree (preferably in a business or safety related area) or equivalent work
experience
- Trained specialist for industrial safety
- Initial work experience in safety
- Experience in managing and developing a team is a bonus
- Strong communication skills, leadership, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus
- Fluent in Czech and English
Preferred qualifications:
- Retail-Distribution Center Safety knowledge experience is a plus
