- Work with other senior DBA on database design and implementation enhancements.
- Day-to-day database maintenance.
- Help developers to optimize queries, stored procedure and database design.
- Assist in developing and implementing best practices for DR and Backups.
- Assist in defining and implementing maintenance plan for the database systems.
- Implement changes on systems.
- Participate in 24×7 on-call rota.
- Manage small infrastructure projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Solid understanding of database design principals, query execution plans
- 3+ years of experience in PostgreSQL
- Solid SQL scripts skill, including SPs, PSQL scripting
- Good performance tuning skills
- Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practises, including planning, testing, backup/restore
- 5+ years experience in Linux systems administration
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Perl or similar; Bash; REST API)
- vSphere, vCenter administration skills
- Overview about infrastructure automation, deployment and configuration management (RH Satellite, Ansible, CloudForms, Rundeck)
- OpenSource and Linux orientation is a must.
- Fluent Czech or Slovak and English
Nice to have
- Proven experience in maintaining high availability standards on heavy traffic systems
- Storage administration knowledge (3PAR, Hitachi, Storwize)
- RHEL and/or Vmware certification
- Knowledge (or at least overview) of OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker
- Knowledge of Storage (NAS/SAN/object), x86 server HW, Virtualization (VMware) principles and best practices
