Linux System Administrator - Monitoring Specialist (A283)

• Implement, configure and manage new monitoring solutions to ensure end-to-end functionality for monitoring and alerting.
• Collaborate with various Operations teams to ensure full monitoring of all existing infrastructure and ensure that monitoring is automatically enabled as part of the new infrastructure.
• Ensure thorough and complete monitoring of all environments and layers – network, server, storage, and applications.
• Provide a gap analysis of missing features and implement them across an array of monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with Engineering where necessary to enhance monitoring of applications and setting alertDesign Monitoring Dashboard for KPIs and provide weekly, monthly and quarter uptime reports based on synthetic monitoring thresholds.
• Ensure monitoring of OpenShift environments.
• Implement changes in systems.
• Manage small infrastructure projects.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years administrating Nagios, Zabbix or other comprehensive open source solution (Zabbix is a plus)
• 3+ years of experience in Production Operations
• Experience in graphing tools like graphite and grafana, ability to quickly create useful dashboards for the engineering and operations teams
• Experience in managing and using ELK/EFK for log aggregation and operational intelligence
• 5+ years experience in Linux systems administration
• Scripting knowledge (Python, Perl or similar; Bash; REST API)
• Overview about infrastructure automation, deployment and configuration management (RH Satellite, Ansible, CloudForms, Rundeck)
• Fluent Czech or Slovak and English

Nice to have:

• Experience with using Time Series Databases like Graphite and InfluxDB is a plus
• RHEL and/or Vmware certification is a plus
• Knowledge (or at least overview) of OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker is a big plus
• Knowledge of Storage (NAS/SAN/object), x86 server HW, Virtualization (VMware) principles and best practices is a plus
