THE ROLE

As a Business Development Manager, you will become a key member of our team using your business relationship skills to secure delegates, sponsors and speakers. Candidates must be able to prove they have the desire to make deals happen.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROLE

INTERNATIONAL: Join an international team serving customers and partners all around Europe
ENGLISH: All external and internal communications in English
INTERACT: Communicate with international customers and enjoy building relationships
EVENT MANAGEMENT: Use your Coordination & Project skills to help manage events
DO DEALS: Use your persuasion & negotiation skills to sell our events to customers
EVENT DESIGN: Be creative and get involved in the process of researching/ shaping events
TRAVEL: Enjoy traveling to Paris, Barcelona, Istanbul, London, Vienna

SPECIFIC TASKS

• Be involved in all aspects of the successful realisation of the Event project
• Research topics and contribute to the quality of the programme and speakers
• Find and contact potential customers by telephone and email
• Present offers for delegate tickets, speaker & sponsor packages
• Negotiate prices and terms
• Meet customers face-to-face at events and take actions to build lasting relationships
• Liaise with other team members and Event Support to ensure all Project administration tasks are completed

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

• You must be able to speak and write a very high level of English
• Second European languages would be highly desirable but not essential

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
No experience is required however, preference will be given to applicants who are proficient in English and can demonstrate some experience dealing with customers in a commercial environment.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

We are looking for an energetic, positive, confident and above all, enthusiastic person with a can-do attitude and great communication skills. Specifically, you must;

• Enjoy working and communicating with people and building relationships
• Enjoy the challenge of doing commercial deals with customers
• Be interested in the Events Management business
• Be able to work to challenging deadlines and take personal responsibility for the success of events
• Be resourceful and creative, and able to work on your own to demanding deadlines
• Be able to quickly understand new ideas and concepts and have the confidence and intelligence to make your own decisions
• Have an eye for detail
