Project Applications Engineer

For our client, a global manufacturer of industrial gas turbines, we are searching for candidates for the position

Project Applications Manager 

Popis pozice:

• Provides technical support to new equipment sales team for Power Generation applications
• Responsible for the technical definition of the project from initial inquiry until contract signature with a customer based on a technical proposal.
• The applications engineer reviews fuel suitability, customer-specific site conditions (temperature range, weather conditions, air and fuel quality etc) and definition for any needed turbine package modifications
• Is responsible for creating the documentation for project approval requests with the company management for complex projects and for an accurate cost build-up of a project based on the pricing strategy
• Develops technical solutions to complex technical project problems during the sales phase
• Responsible for numerous complex customer inquiries annually and may lead and/or participates in several product or process improvement programs simultaneously.
• Is responsible for ensuring completeness and accuracy of technical and commercial aspects of a project proposal
• Review of Customer technical specifications, commenting on and adapting the company’s proposals
• Selects the optimum turbine configuration to competitively satisfy the customer’s needs and optimize customer economics
• Assists Sales in difficult and/or complex customer negotiations

Profil kandidáta:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines, preferably with experience working in the power generation industry
• Strong background in thermodynamics or control systems is beneficial
• Fluency in English is required as the working language and any additional language skills would be an asset
• Willing to travel to meet with customers to support the sales team - within the assigned territory in Europe/Africa/Southeast Asia will be needed as well as some regular business travel to Switzerland for technical training with the central department
