Job Description:

As a sales, stock and customer service associate, participants will be re-stocking, working the cash desk at the check out, assisting customers with merchandise as well as helping with questions or problems. They will also be straightening the store and cleaning the store during quiet hours or before or after the store is open. Additional duties include setting up displays, arranging merchandise and stamping or tagging pricing on merchandise. Sales clerks may also need to keep a record of sales or prepare inventory of stock. Participants must have a working knowledge of U.S. currency and must be friendly and courteous to customers and have excellent customer service skills. Participants must be willing to work at both retail store locations, as well as, the miniature golf and ice cream stand at the Coastal Highway retail store location. Participants could be working at both Sea Shell Shop locations but generally you will work at the same retail location throughout the summer. The miniature golf location may require some light yard work. The ice cream stand requires that participants prepare and serve all offered ice cream dishes, sundaes, and milkshakes to patrons. Some select participants will be rotated between the retail store and ice cream location. Participants will also be chosen for the miniature golf for the entire summer.

Uniform:

Appearance is important, participants must be well groomed and dressed appropriately for work daily. Please bring casual clothing appropriate for retail environment including jeans and mid thigh length shorts. Must wear closed toed, comfortable shoes such as athletic shoes, no sandals. Aprons are provided by the employer and worn over your clothes. Participants are not permitted to have unusual facial piercings, tongue piercing or extreme hair color. Please do not wear hats, sunglasses, sleeveless or cutoff shirts, shirts with midriffs showing or short shorts. Must also be clean cut and males must be clean shaven. Participants must showered and wear deodorant daily.

Job benefits:

A famous retail family gift shop in Rehoboth, Delaware. Please note that bonuses are given at the employer's discretion. Must be good worker, reliable and must stay through the duration of their work program. Participants must be ambitious, dependable, have great customer service skills and eager to take on responsibilities. The bonus is $1.00 per hour for every hour worked during the summer. Participants must work until an agreed upon end date. The date is very important as leaving before this date forfeits the bonus. No excuses are accepted for ending the  program early. Participants are also expected to work 5 days per week. If at any point participants work less than days a week or scheduling becomes a problem, the bonus will be reduced to .50¢ per hour for all hours worked. Participants are also paid time and a half for working over 40 hours per week.

Requirements:

English should be excellent in order to communicate with customers. Assisting customers will be the primary responsibility. Participants should not speak their native language in the stores. It is to their benefit to leave the USA speaking fluent English. Owners usually do not hire friends, male or female. If arriving with one or two friends, participants will be split into different locations and may be working different shifts. Participants be well groomed  and dressed appropriately for work daily. Uniforms are not provided, casual clothes are acceptable including jeans  and shorts. Please wear closed toed shoes such as athletic shoes and not sandals.

Participants will be working at both Sea Shell Shops as needed. These are retail gift shops, about 5,000 square feet each. A Miniature Golf course called Shell We Golf and a Ice Cream Parlor called Shell We Eat Ice Cream is  connected to the Coastal highway store. Both stores are on the bus route and within 1 mile of each other. Participants  will be scheduled upon arrival. The stores are open 9 AM to 11 PM so there are many hours of work to offer. Participants will be scheduled 35 – 40 hours each week, 5 days a week either 9AM to 4 PM or 4 PM to 11:30PM; in addition to one day a week from 1 PM to 10 PM. Participants will have two days off per week which will vary. There are no fixed schedules. This is considered the participant's primary job and all other jobs must be scheduled around the hours provided. Schedules are provided in advance so participants can schedule themselves accordingly.

Participants should settle into their pre-arranged housing upon arrival. At their convenience, participants are asked to stop in at any location and complete application forms and coordinate work schedules and location. Employer reserves the right to change a participant’s position if they are not performing to standards.

Housing: not provided by employer, will get tips from visa sponsor, ussual monthly range for person: $ 300–500

The area has many local area attractions including  retail outlets consisting of 140 stores, great nightlife, fantastic beaches and mile long boardwalk.
