DESCRIPTION
Our client is the market leading provider of technology and administration services to major financial institutions in the platform and wealth management sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Our client is extending his DBA team in Brno due to new projects. This role is technical in nature and focuses on supporting and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases for operations.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Maintaining and supporting all platform databases of our client; query optimization; building and supporting new platform instances
- Manage Availability and performing scheduled maintenance to minimise disruption
- Ensuring performance quality by monitoring system performance, capacity and growth; monitor and optimize queries in test and production environments; suggest and implement performance improvements and hardware refreshes
- Ensure that our client's databases are internally and externally secure; implementing security projects; completing risk assessments and build guides for new and existing systems; managing database security and access controls
- Ensure that client's – held data is secure and backed up by ensuring that regular backups and made and are tested; participating in yearly BCP & DR tests
- Build new platform database instances to a high level of quality
REQUIREMENTS
- Professional experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator
- Experience with SQL Server 2005–2012 on a Windows Server platform, including upgrades; SQL Server HA/DR technologies including log shipping, clustering and replication
- Experience in a dynamic, highly available mission critical production environment
- Proven ability to work as an individual, with excellent self-management and time management skills
- Problem solving capabilities and the ability to multitask and re-prioritise work in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience with troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Monitoring and managing the speed issues experience
- Experience with security management
- English at least B2 (you will be part of remote team)
- Interest to learn and keep improving skills
- Ability to occasionally travel to UK for trainings
Good to have
- Experience within a multi-tiered web environment desirable
- Database programming, TSQL and optimization experience
- Experience with SQL on VMWare, Windows Failover Clustering and SAN snapshot technologies would be highly regarded
- Experience designing and supporting data warehouse environments
