BMK Czech Technologies, s.r.o. is a Czech manufacturing plant that is part of the Swedish HANZA Group. It specializes in the production of custom electronics for non-automotive applications. Its main products are electronic components for water meters, gas meters, and electricity meters.
For our plant located in Krupka, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of:
Project Engineer
About the Role
As a Project Engineer within the Customer Focus Team (CFT), you support customer projects throughout the product lifecycle, from quotation and industrialization to serial production. Acting as the technical interface between customers and HANZA's operations, you ensure that customer requirements are translated into efficient and manufacturable solutions.
Working closely with Customer Focus Managers, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Production, you drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, technical project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure successful product launches and long-term customer satisfaction.
Your Tasks:
- Support customer projects from RFQ through industrialization and serial production.
- Evaluate customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and BOMs from a technical and manufacturing perspective.
- Support quotation activities by assessing manufacturability, process requirements, and technical risks.
- Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including prototype builds, pilot production, and production readiness.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Excellence (DFx) principles to optimize products and processes.
- Coordinate technical activities between customers and internal functions including Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Production, and Supply Chain.
- Prepare and maintain production documentation, work instructions, process flows, and engineering change documentation.
- Create and maintain BOMs, ERP master data, work instructions, process flows, engineering change documentation and product configuration control.
- Analyze technical issues and support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support implementation of engineering changes, cost optimization projects, and process improvements.
- Support transfer projects between HANZA sites and ensure successful industrialization and production readiness.
- Participate in customer meetings and provide technical expertise during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and HANZA processes.
Your Profile:
- Degree or technical qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, or a similar industrial environment.
- Good understanding of PCB assembly, electronic components, manufacturing processes, and product industrialization.
- Experience with NPI, engineering change management, and production transfer activities is an advantage.
- Knowledge of DFM, DFx, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style.
- Strong communication and coordination skills in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in Czech and English; German is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel when necessary
